Well, I just come here to expose my situation with Big in Japan. This issue happened a few day ago and certainly I was very upset so I let pass a few days before I write this.

I have been looking to buy a rare mouse pad for the last 2 years or so and finally I found it on Suruga-ya. First I thought in buy it through White Rabbit express but I saw good references form Big in Japan so I decided to used their proxy service.

I asked them to put a purchase order on Nov 29 but it was during my night time. In my mail I asked to attend my request asap, because the weekend was around the corner. The Nov 30 was a holiday on Japan so they could attend my request the Friday 1th.

They sent me an invoice at the 9pm (Japan time) of the Friday first and I paid it after 5 minutes and I replied them telling them that it had been paid. As you can imagine, they didn't purchase for the item at suruga-ya and... yes, someone bought it during the Sunday.

I couldn't buy it by myself because it was a +18 item, so Paypal was not an option and that's why I couldn't use their forwarding sevice.

The next Monday (Dec 4) they sent me a mail telling me that "unfortunatelly" the item was sold during their weekend and made me a refund. By the way, they also sent me that mail around 9pm (Japan time).

    "Unfortunatelly" ???

If they would had read their mails that arrived during their holiday on friday's morning they could use all the day forward to attend my request. This guys only check their mail inbox during the last office minute.

This is a very frustrating issue, and now that I know how they work, I won't use their proxy service again. I hope I can find once again my holy grail mouse pad soon, but I don't keep any hope.

I don't know why they don't focus on their clients, and this is the same for NY and Amiami. It looks like their overseas clients don't deserve their attention.

Well this was my first experience with BiJ and this is not so good at all. Just and advice, if you use their proxy service, do it having in mind that they will see your request in the last minute posible of their working day.

    Berst Regards guys.

Just wondering, anyone have experience forwarding doujins from toranoana with BiJ?
Do they accept BiJ P.O. box?
The ones i want to order aren't +18 so i'm not afraid of that, just wondering if someone knows if i can make the order or should contact a proxy to make it for me
    Thanks!

I forward stuff from Toranoana all the time (including 3 doujin about 1 - 2 weeks ago) to BiJ with no problems.

Is BIJ the only shop that the Netherlands is boycotting, or? I now need to pay almost 6,000 yen for a mere Nendoroid instead of 3,900 yen max because this dumb ass, stupid country doesn't take their packages anymore. I don't have the money to spare for these kind of sick jokes. :))

There's some kind of processing problem that's been going on for a while now.

Seems the problems are still not fixed. Really don't understand what the problem is. All packages that are not SAL are seemingly going completely fine. Luckily I chose EMS for my Miku that I pre-ordered at BIJ and that's coming out this summer. :)

It's not the Netherlands is boycotting - it's the processing centre(s) that are having issues. SAL will eventually resume, but there's no ETA on the Japan Post site - www.post.japanp...

Not sure if Japan Post is straight-up refusing to take SAL parcels for the affected destinations, but all the retailers I've seen are either stockpiling the SAL post, or refusing to allow the affected countries to order SAL. Even if Japan Post is taking the parcels, retailers don't want to be sending customer's items into what's currently a black hole.

If you want to keep costs down, you could try asking for airmail. Airmail should be cheaper than EMS, especially if you can get airmail small packet.

I heard that they are hoping for a resolution by spring, but no guarantees of course.

Anyone knows why sal doesn't offer normal SAL for Germany anymore? We're not one of the listed countries who have problems with sal? But SAL is still not up to choose when ordering?

Amiami has shipped everything I ever pre-ordered in the last 5 years but not for instance HLJ. How reliable is Big in Japan in terms of fulfilling pre-orders?

I have personally never had a pre-order canceled with BiJ.

I'm sorry for the itchy subject, but has anyone canceled a PO on BiJ before? I know they are quite strict but has anyone tried canceling succesfully?
I'm not happy about it but I seriously feel like having to cancel a PO for a scale figure (priced just below 10k yen). I still have some Nendoroid preorders with them that I really want to keep and just paid for 2 other orders that have yet to ship, so I'm certainly trying to avoid being banned.
Any advice (maybe on how to word the cancellation) or experiences would be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance and my apologies again ._.

If the release date is far away and you didn't cancel anything before, it's possible that they will accept your request.

They cancelled a preorder of mine, I requested the cancellation one day after I placed it.
I was very careful and just asked if they could kindly cancel it without any issues for my account or other preorders. I also specified that if it wasn't possible it was fine, I would have paid.

I asked in a message on the order page, they replied saying only that the order was cancelled as requested.

BiJ announced they are increasing the price of their forwarding + repackaging ticket:

They said there is no price change for the forwarding ticket and that tickets already opened are not affected.

Oh no! I use their forwarding service regularly so this is going to sting! Maybe they're doing it because they're getting more popular?

That and it may be because of storage space (which may be an effect of increased popularity). In another one of their blog postsk they announce that storage for unclaimed forwarding packages will be decreased from 6 months to 1 month.
