Hi there! I'm Elise_Grimwald. :).
I (obvious) love anime and manga, particularly those in the fantasy, shoujo, or a mix of both genres. I also enjoy a good mystery, supernatural, sci-fi, romance, or slice-of-life series as well, but it just depends.
Other than manga and anime, I also love playing video games, writing, and drawing.
Now, onto figures..
The first figure I got that I acknowledged as a figure was an Asuna Kagurazaka Figumate that came with the limited edition of the DVD back in 2006. Before I got that figure, I knew figures existed (of course), but I thought they were not within my price range. I really liked the figumate, and was thrilled to get more of them with the other DVDs. Fast forward to Anime Central of the same year, where I saw more figumates for sale, and that they were priced in a range I could afford. I was not only thrilled to find more Negima figures, but that there were affordable figures after all. Once I got more money than what would pay for just more figumates, I started buying trading figures from other series as well. Upon looking around at Anime Central again in a different year, I started seeing more and more prize figures appear, and fairly quickly realized that those too were affordable and started buying those. And over time, I started collecting nendos as well (I held off for YEARS on them because I saw them as being the same as the trading figures I had/saw, but slightly bigger and WAY more expensive, and then realized I could change the parts, which is why they cost more ^^;), and eventually added scales to my collection ^^;. But the latter is rarely. Before, I couldn't even DREAM of getting a scale, as they were so freaking expensive. I just admired them at conventions. But now, I just treat myself to them every so often ^^;. Scales are just too dynamic, and it seems that companies put certain characters behind scale paywalls and don't make normal figures of them, so it seems to be a forced thing in some cases. They're actually my favorite figure type, and I ALWAYS look forward to getting them.
I've bought many figures since then, and found that there are still plenty for me to get, which makes me happy. :). I am a bit agitated about figures suddenly going back into the 'I can't afford this' price range (scales keep being like $150+, when I started buying them, $150 was the highest range :/), but as long as good figures keep being made I can afford, I will buy them.
I am very much into itabags, too. And keychains/can badges/straps. I also love artist's alley stuff, and want to be able to make some designs good enough for it. :).
