How does everyone's base for Antarcticite look?

I just received mine from TOM, and while Antarcticite themself looks fine, the golden base has quite a lot of scratches and paint chips all around its various sides. Normally I'd try and get a replacement base through TOM or GSC, but since Antarc comes already pre-attached to the base, that seems like a pain.

The base being so shiny makes the dings really noticeable though and is kind of ticking me off.

JustSomebody (1 månad sedan) #54382072Question to those who own the figure:
Would it be possible to remove the right eye (the one that's sticking out)? Unfortunately I can't recognise on any picture how it's "glued" to the figure. Do you think that it would be easy to remove it? Thank you in advance.
I was under the impression that the eye is either cast as one part of the face or glued in w/a peg to a slot in the face? I imagine you could get in there and hack it out with an x-acto or something if you really want it gone but I don't think you'd find much success trying to wiggle it out. I wouldn't recommend cutting it out though since it's very close quarters in there and there's a likelihood you could take a chunk out of the hair.

    ---
In other news, here's a shot of the face on my replacement Antarc that's even worse than the one I returned for having a chunk of paint missing from its nose. This is just the face, the body paint job is also really sloppy.

This really sucks and I don't think I want to try getting a third replacement at random, since it's not like you can tell through the packaging. If anyone has an Antarc that has no facial defects and is looking to sell it, please contact me!

Edit: I eventually got a replacement from GSC which is of acceptable quality. I'm still really bothered by their QC and the hoops I had to jump through to get replacements :\ Having to play roulette until the third figure that arrives ends up looking ok totally blows. I was looking forward to buying other figures from them but feel obligated to discontinue purchasing GSC products since this was ridiculous and I don't want to go through it again.

Received my replacement for my first version (which had a chunk of paint missing from the nose) and it has paint wrinkling on the face and a bunch of scuffs + paint splotches elsewhere, leaving me to wish I'd kept the one with paint missing from the nose. Has anyone heard of companies replacing figures more than once? This is ridiculous and I'm really disappointed in GSC's quality control.
