darkinsanity1315 dagar sedan#103587240It depends. If the other characters included can be easily displayed on their own (meaning they don't share a base with the "main" figure) and aren't miniatures or pets, then they can have their own item entry, linked as "bundled with" if they were packaged together. But if they can't be easily displayed separately or are pets/miniatures, then adding their characters to the "main" figure is fine.
As for alerting, if it's just one or two figure entries that need to be fixed, alerting each entry should be fine, but if there are quite a few entries with a similar correction (I'd say 4 or more), alerting one and then linking the others in the alert description would be more efficient for the MODs. Just make sure you explain your reason for the alert and provide sources for info when you can. The other option would be to message whoever created or last edited the entry if it's a relatively minor fix and the person seems recently active on the site, but that may not always work.

Thanks for that! :)

PigeonSocks17 dagar sedan#103523460I was going to ask why a bunch of my images that I uploaded under chan have been deleted? I sourced all of them correctly and now they won’t show up in my club either which makes it look strange. If anyone knows what happened I would like to know please.
Idk what images you uploaded, but if they weren't figure-related and didn't have a note in the description mentioning what they were being used for, that's likely why they were deleted. The paragraph at the top of the image uploading page states as such (bold italics are my emphasis):

"Important: MFC is not a picture hosting service. Upload only pictures you want to share with the community (random pictures are in a moderated way allowed for profile customisation and blog post illustrations - in those cases, please add in the picture description how and where you are using those pictures)"

I've come across a few figures that have been in the database for quite a while, but the descriptions are missing characters that are included as bonus figures. Should I alert each entry and ask for the character to be added? Or should I make separate entries for the bonus characters and mark them as bundled with?
If I've totally got the wrong idea for this please let me know.
Thank you so much! :)
(ps. I hope this is the right place to ask this, apologies if not!!!)

Hi guys! I'm new to MFC, and have been super excited to add to the database and help expand this place, however I'm still learning about proper rules and etiquette when it comes to adding and editing etc!

Another issue sorta related to the posts below is what qualifies as a "Type".

In most cases, size specification adds a new type (such as "big keychain" vs "keychain"). Similarly, material specification adds a new type too ("acrylic keychain" vs "keychain" - however there are exceptions for instance PVCキーホルダー is pretty common product but there is no individual type for it while there is "clear PVC keychain"....)

I've raised/been raised many alerts about it but I really dont think the theme/description of the illustration should create a new type (such as ENTRY #241636 and alert/69060) or we will have all sorts of types such as "eating udon acrylic stand", "spring clothes acrylic keychain" etc. While I thought this was more than obvious my alerts were never addressed so probably Im overlooking things.

There are other dimensions of specification that are more ambiguous/less consistent such as the special printing of an item, hologram, hakuoshi, etc. Sometimes a type is created but not always. For instance, there are a lot of hakuoshi shikishi but there is no such type while we do have other hakuoshi ENTRY #215622 ENTRY #234618 ENTRY #248306. DISCLAIMER: Im not advocating for hakuoshi shikishi to have its own type.

While I do understand it's very difficult and time-consuming to address these issues in any manner especially given how much accumulation we've had, it might not be a bad idea to start trying to organize a guideline for better consistency and clearer implementation.

flyingteapot24 dagar sedan#103291053As far as I know, there isn't a physical difference, it's only about what the manufacturer calls them. This does indeed make filtering search results harder for us, for example if we're searching for an old item (if we saw it on sale somewhere) and we don't know what the official title is; however grouping all of these as acrylic stands is not allowed, if I remember correctly - more like, adding so many classifications that aren't in the official title or the item group is not wanted anymore. I think that's also probably because there were cases where people added a lot of classifications before. :/
The overclassification problem you're mentioning is when people put "keyholder" + "acrylic keyholder" + "big acrylic keyholder" and basically include more classifications than really necessary. Which is indeed a problem, but not quite what I'm asking about. What I'm wondering is if it's necessary to have these very similar type classifications that don't seem to have a notable visual distinction besides what the manufacturers claim them to be.

My line of thinking is potentially consolidating them into one classification with the other names as aliases, not adding all three (+sub-classifications) to whatever stands only have one. If the other two are added as aliases, then the "main" one will show up when someone searches for the other two. So for instance, if we consolidate "acrylic figure" and "acrylic stand figure" under "acrylic stand" and make the former two aliases of the latter, when you search for "acrylic figure", "acrylic stand" will be the result that pops up.

However, I realize that would be a pretty massive undertaking to change considering the amount of entries there are with each classification.

If there is in fact a distinct difference, I think descriptions should be added to their entries to explain said distinction.

Edit: After some searching, it seems what you're talking about and what I'm talking about do potentially go hand-in-hand, because there are quite a number of items that have two or all three of the classifications I mentioned, which should probably be cleaned up to some capacity, but again, that's a heck of a lot of work.

darkinsanity1324 dagar sedan#103290820This is probably opening up a can of worms, but what exactly is the difference between acrylic stands (ENTRY #79308), acrylic figures (ENTRY #82866), and acrylic stand figures (ENTRY #116176) besides what manufacturers call them? The example picture on acrylic stand shows like a picture frame type, but I'd say the majority seem to be the same as both acrylic figures and stand figures, and overall it seems like they're all describing the same thing.

Kaneel1 månad sedan#103061789If there is actually merchandise out there which is not specifying a certain game or anime season and uses plain "danganronpa" an orign should be created for it then.
If you have some merch at hand which could be double check feel free to link those.

some examples of merch are these: 1 / 2 which include characters from multiple games but are only labeled Danganronpa Series and collabs like ENTRY #175967 and ENTRY #245886 which only specify the origins as Danganronpa instead of specific titles
