I own 4 cast off figures, I had no idea 3 of them were cast off till after I purchased them, and I never intend to cast off or display them as a cast off, but it made me think about all the shows that are obvious fan service centered and they leave little to the imagination. Why don't they just make all the figures from shows like "To Love-Ru", and similar shows where they don't bother to hide much cast off by default? It's obviously part of their market and fan base. It just seems stupid to have figures that don't represent the total aspect of the anime. Even though I myself wouldn't choose to cast off my figures if the show caters to fan service it seems silly not to extend it to their figure line also and let the fanbase decide.

BuyMyFigs1 månad sedan#102757998Lol, I'm just busting your balls, no hard feelings. I agree Ichika (and most male protags in general) are way too dense. But that was one thing I liked about Sister New Devil, Basara was actually cool headed more like, "ugh, fine I'll grope your boobs if I HAVE to" while rolling his eyes instead of panicking every time they made an advance (the exact opposite of that pussy Issei from DxD) Same with Peter Grill, such a cheesy show but at least he goes for it instead of whimping out. I'm ashamed I forgot KissxSis, Redo, and especially MonMusu because I was JUST thinking I want to sell the 7 volumes of manga I own of it haha.
That billboard sounds funny, I don't like Rias at all, but I'd still love to see it. Gonna hit up Google now!

Oh snap we’re on that ball busting level? Have we talked and vibed before and I just forgot about it? My bad man, I tend to lose track of all the people I talk with after a while.

Anyway no worries bro, I got you.

external-previe...

Idk about that Basara stuff though, couldn’t relate. I mean sure it was a nice change of pace with how disinterested he was, but he had me dead to rights over here all like “there’s no way you’re gonna face that much thicc-ness and not be all about it.” It just can’t be done. Nope.

Ah looks like I caught you lacking on the anime titles the same way you caught me. Guess we’re even now. XD

As for Mon Musu, aye fellow appreciatior! Suu is best girl though.

Would be nice but I guess it costs them more money. Not like they don't already make bank

skylinedo1 månad sedan#102731737Then who would buy the DVDs when you can just get the nips from the figs?

A static figure isn't the same as a moving picture though. So like, "reading" Oyasumi Sex is nice in it's own way, but now that there are 4 animated episodes those are the go to "premium" way of consuming the content. As much as I may love looking at my 1/4th scale Hachiroku or Vanilla cast offs, actually loading up Maitetsu or Nekopara and replaying the H scenes is a million times better. Blu-ray will always trump figure sales, regardless of whether it's cast off or a fully clothed character.

View spoilerHide spoilerAww shucks guys and here I thought my penny thoughts would be appreciated. That's ok though, I don't take my username or title seriously anyway. It was supposed to be for the memes and more of a persona to play, but then I actually met some pretty nice people on here. Besides I don't watch anime all that seriously as a hobby.
Still though BuyMyFigs, you bring up some excellent points. I mean I didn't think of this as a debate, but if so then you win? I deadass forgot about the age thing in regards to buying NSFW figures due to the fact they're so relaxed with the nudity stuff over there. I mean I remember seeing a billboard in Japan that was of Rias Gremory with her chesticles pushing out of the actual billboard, talk about being lax.
As for anime, yeah I could not think of any at the time as I commented during my break at work so I was in a rush, but looking at it now. Maken-ki (pretty boring though), Sekirei (actually really good), Shinmai Mou no Testament (also pretty boring), Seikon no Qwaser (couldn't fully get into it), Ikkitousen, Monster Musume, Peter Grill to Kenja no Jikan, the Senran Kagura anime... Redo of Healer...
I know of Infinite Stratos (Charlotte best girl btw), but couldn't fully get into it cause Ichika's density physically pained me. Eomanga-sensei... yeah I wasn't with all that loli younger sis vibe thing, same reason I couldn't get into Oreimo or KissxSis. That ain't it chief, but if it is for you than all more power to ya.
Still good points though. Bravo! :D

Wow it seams Mikan is the ONLY one with removable clothing [but with no details underneath] & the next best is bareass ITEM #1007528 in terms of being eroi. They must really want to push them DVDs

You also have this one which is forced castoff, but with fully detailled chest :

I recognized the butt in the thumbnail instantly and without having seen To Love Ru. That can't be good.

Anyways, I don't know about the production decisions made in regards to separate why a figure might be made sexily, or entirely cast-off. Demand and production costs. But my idea is that I prefer sensual figures that don't have the cast-off option to ones that would have that option, since I wouldn't use it. However, beyond my preference, I think your idea is intuitive. More variety and selling points, and fitting to the source material. However, for some figures it would not go a long ways.

Many figures aim to emphasize sex appeal that doesn't include cast-off. Manufactuirers might just provide a swimsuit figure and call it a day, since it's main point is not full nudity appeal, but swimsuit appeal. The figure is more focused then and though the audience isn't broadened, time and money are saved from it being a regular old figure. Plus, cast-off would not work too well for some figures. Sure, the goods would be out, but the pose or expression might not make it too exciting for the cast-off option, like if the figure was just standing there in a swimsuit originally. Not much more mileage when the cast-off is added. The design from the get-go would have to be altered for the cast-off option to shine, when it's just meant to be a swimsuit figure in this example. But of course there are people who just like cast-offs even if they are not doing much, so nudity can stand on its own without creativity in cast-offs lol.

So I think in some cases, the cast-off option would not at all be pointless but excessive from a production and aesthetic standpoint. A scantily clad figure will suffice in some cases and have enough allure already, whether its a bunny figure, lingerie, gym wear, etc. Less is more with sticking to the charm from any of that. For many series though, a well-executed cast-off would make sense and be great for those who like it.

RPG_FAN1281 månad sedan#102714789Nah, I like diversity in choice. The world doesn't need more tyranny of making other's choices for them.

A company deciding you need anime nipples is comparable to tyranny? How do I go to this world? Asking for a friend

MLMjp1 månad sedan#102719536If the ecchi shows nipples, then I think its figures should be cast off.
But unfortunately, because of the licencing issues mentioned by BuyMyFigs and funwari, it seems like thats not going to happen for certain series published in certain magazines or by certain brands.
As much as I stopped caring about To Love ru with Darkness, I still like best girl Yui Kotegawa, and I would like to see a cast-off of her. But it wont happen.
citrus1 månad sedan#102718692From a technical perspective, a cast-off figure is more complex to plan, sculpt, produce, and package, leading to a higher price tags that can price more collectors out of the market. Unless a particular property is popular enough that the figure producers can confidently sell such a figure profitably, they wouldn't do it.BuyMyFigs1 månad sedan#102714757Yeah I agree with sinxsader, you kinda lose your title if you can't name any ecchi series' other than one of the lamest most mainstream ones. And DxD isn't really leading the pack with cast offs.
There are plenty of mainstream popular ecchi series' getting figures, even if you don't watch the genre it'd be impossible to not see these titles: To Love-ru, Infinite Stratos, Prisma Illya, Eromanga Sensei, Yosuga no Sora to name a few.
But the issue with going for all cast off for a product line is that the demographic for ecchi series' is more than just adults. Don't forget Japan has different viewpoints on nudity, so a 16 year old watching To Love-ru with it's ample nudity is ok, but they still can't buy a cast off figure, so you lose out on a large portion of your target demographic by restricting the sales of figures to 18+. (Not that they wouldn't just have a parent or older friend buy it for them, but then that leads to other PR issues for the company/stores selling the figures). Also factor in that cast offs are generally more expensive and time consuming to produce, and a lot of the time the clothing looks cheap when left on the figure with seam lines where they break away for removal, and possible licensing restrictions, extra fees, or legal liabilities that companies have to pay to even produce "adult oriented" content, and it just easier to make a scantly clad figure over a full cast off.

A lot of good points were made why they don't make the figures cast off. I didn't even know cast off was 18+ in Japan and that would limit their market a lot. I just assumed since they allow so many themes that would be a definite no go anywhere else buying a cast off was a loop hole that allowed anyone to purchase a figure. The production difficulties are a whole other aspect I wasn't considering. It all makes sense. I don't really care if they are cast off or not it's not what I buy figures for, so it doesn't affect me, I'll buy the figures I like regardless. I just considered it odd that the shows had certain characters pretty much completely naked multiple times each episode but the figures they produce don't fully represent that aspect of the series. I guess like all things money is the driving factor.
