moeronpan (2 månader sedan) #49548093I'm not trying to start anything here but am genuinely curious; about the Comiket videos, is that kind of filming actually allowed...? I have never been to Comiket but I have been to other large conventions in Japan like Wonfest and Dolpa and they have always stressed that photos can only be taken with permission, and specifically dont allow filming the venue due to how people who did not consent to be filmed/photographed will likely end up in the video. I was just wondering if there were such rules at Comiket, or whether you were aware of them if there are. (I always wondered about Comiket specifically, because due to the large crowds in the cosplay area it is almost impossible to not accidentally photograph people in the background, although I also notice that many people who upload photos censor the faces in the background)
A few years ago I made a few general pictures inside the east halls without problems as well; it was a little different in the west halls with the corporate booths as there were clear signs when pictures weren't allowed.
Last time, in the doujinshi halls I saw no staff objecting. In the halls, I was also basically standing in the corners and more or less out of the way. I somehow got the impression that as a westener, even if I did publish the footage, practically nobody of the visitors would recognize themselves as it would most likely be shown outside of Japan.
