Hello everyone!

I am moving to Berlin, Germany at the end of this month. In my home country, I was buying mainly from AmiAmi and Mandarake. In my home country, anything you buy under 30 dollars was free from customs taxes. But if it were more than 30 dollars, the buyer could pay the taxes when the package was delivered. I always used EMS because it was the most reliable method in my home country.

I would like to ask, what are the customs regulations on Germany? Are there any price limits or are the taxes so high? What is the best method of shipping? I would like to continue to order from AmiAmi and Mandarake when I move to Germany. Do you recommend it?

Also, another question I would like to ask is, are there any shops in Berlin which I can buy figures, manga, and Gundam? And are there any online shops in Germany which you can recommend?

Thank you so much for your help!

xSelene893 år sedan#40216461You still have to pay VAT but its only 7% and not 19%. My text below refers to another custom tax you have to pay additionally to the VAT if your stuff is worth more then 150€. You dont have to pay this additionall tax if you order books for more then 150 €.
Sorry, Im not good at explaining things but I hope that you understand it now^^

No, you just explained pretty clear (:

Sorry, mein Deutsch ist nicht sehr gut (:

xSelene893 år sedan#40163478Die 7 Prozent beziehen sich nicht auf die normale Mwst die zu zahlen sind, sondern auf den Zollsatz der bei Einkäufen über 150 Euro zusätzlich fällig wird^^ Nach weiterer Recherche im Internet beträgt er bei "Ziergegenständen aus Kunststoff" 6,5% ^^
Bücher sind davon komplett befreit z.B.

WeisserSchnee3 år sedan#40050188That's not quite true. The value has to be between ~25€ and 150€.
Custom fees under 5€ won't be charged, no one seems to know that.
And I had to pay always 19% for figurines, not 7%
As far as I know, 7% is only for books

As for shipping methods, I always use the super cheap SAL unregistered ( or sometimes air mail) and had no Problems.
German online shops like Figuya are way overpriced

darkfroggy3 år sedan#4005340717.50 euros for filling out a form? That's highway robbery!
The 19% tax (already excessive) should include the form... makes no sense why there is an additional fee on top.

Yes it sure is... Hopefully with the new trade agreement between Japan and the EU these forms don't need to be filled out anymore and the postal companies cannot charge you 17.50 or 13 euros anymore...

Newcomer3 år sedan#40054178You should try Nippon-Yasan for pre-order it's way cheaper. Try Transi-logistic shipping and pay PayPal with Yen.(Cheaper to convert by PayPal than actually paying in Euro on Nippon-Yasan) It sometimes goes around 30~50 euroes cheaper than pre-ordering on cheapest European online store. Also, it ships way faster too!
Also, Yorokende is around 10~20 euroes cheaper than anime-figuren.de!
Ex: ITEM #703537
Nippon-Yasan = 28,474Yen or €230,84 by PayPal conversion (Including shipping + import tax)
Yorokende = €264.90 (Excluding shipping)
Anime-figuren.de = €284,90 (Excluding shipping)

Wow, that's a huge difference for that figure. Only thing is, don't really trust Nippon Yasan (too many negative stories about them), and somehow, never had a good feeling about Yorokonde to be honest. Thought Yorokonde was more expensive than anime-figuren, but I guess it also depends on the figure. :) Maybe I should try them out sometime. However, I also noticed BiJ just undervalues your items without asking, so maybe I should use them more often too. My first order with them just got delivered last week. :) But I have read some (very) positive stories about Transi-Logistic shipping from NY though.

kin3 år sedan#40104220My only minus point is how I can't combine two figures after I chose to p/o them.
Ah but you can! :o There's a button that says "combine pre-orders not paid" ^^

Jasmine-chan3 år sedan#40101096Hi!
Yeah, it looks like the taxes are very high for the foreign packages (: Knowing what to expect and how much should I pay as a tax while I am calculating the total price is better than a surprise.

I pay more custom tax if it's shipped to Belgium than The Netherlands which makes no sense holy shit. Anyway, I'll quote what others have said; Nippon Yasan doesn't have The Greatest Reputation but for Europeans it's a god sent. I've been using them for nendos now for a year and even if you don't use transic logic but normal Airmail then they will still undervalue your package so that it won't get picked up by customs and through that year none have been detected. My only minus point is how I can't combine two figures after I chose to p/o them.

kin3 år sedan#40097277Welcome to Germany, you're gonna pay a lot of taxes on your shipments. (this pretty much includes for most of Europe)

broken-Toybox3 år sedan#40069887If the package gets delivered to your doorstep you have to pay VAT then and there (be careful to havev enough small change, the delivery personal never carries any). If your not at home you can either reschedule delivery through the DHL Express (if its EMS) hotline or pick your package up at one of their shops , if you ordered not via EMS and have to pay charges they usually bring your package to the next post office (if its free of charge they do that too or leave it at your neighbours).indian_summer223 år sedan#40093773If you buy from shops within the EU the VAT and taxes will be included in the final price. The procedures described by other members will only come into effect if you buy from outside the European Union.

Thank you so much for the information! Now I feel better and now I know what to expect when I order something.
