Hello everyone! tinee-figures here again! Today I'm going to do a review on my 1/8 scale of Kirigiri Kyouko by Phat! Company.
This post will be picture & text heavy! My apologies! Skip through my rambles and onto the pictures if you like!
Kirigiri Kyouko is probably one of my favorite female characters, she is strong and smart. I got her at my local convention here in Missouri and had to decide between her and one of my grails, Cerberus. We can see which one won out. I'm glad I got her, she wasn't cheap at the convention and she isn't any cheaper to this day.
I love how we have little blood splatters all around her and Monokuma. I also enjoy the attention to detail on the base. It looks like a gymnasium floor, even if the basketball wasn't there. The anime has a lot of things that happen in the gymnasium, it brings the figure together, I think. In this picture you can see where Monokuma stands as well, in the midst of blood splatter.
Here are a few more splatters along with her student PDA, and where she sits. I love the paint job on the desk and chair, the chrome painting on the legs makes me feel like I'm back in school. (ick, bring on the nightmares)
Here's a close up of Monokuma, the rotten little bear. His seams and paint are very clean. I don't think I've ever really seen a figure, all around, have this clean of a paint job.
Monokuma looks like he's up to no good, as usual. I'm waiting for him to tell me one of my friends has been found dead and I have to conduct an investigation to figure who did it.
Now I'm moving on to Kirigiri herself!
Ahhh~ I love her face. The soft frown on her lips, her eyes. I love that purple. If you look away from her face, you see the emblem on her tie, a nice little detail, there's also one on her jacket, you can also see the zipper effect on her shirt, very fun.
Here you can see a handful of other details, such as another angle of the braid and her little bow. You can see how her hair flows out and around her as if she's falling or slipping. Another detail you can see is her gloves and the sleeves of her jacket. One detail I never noticed until I was trying to get up close shots was the slight paint difference just above her boots, it didn't click that they would add the detail of her socks at first. I had to go back and look at official art to make sure she does, in fact, wear socks!
Here's a close up of her boots, you can see the paint detail of her sock again! You can see the creases in her boots, I adore details like that, gives a figure the feeling of reality. I have boots like those and they always seem to slip down a little a crease like this. The belts are a nice touch as well, making the boots extra cute instead of just boring old black boots that are clearly a favorite pair of the wearer.
Here is my Kirigiri Kyouko, I hope you guys enjoyed my review of her. Thank you for reading, or looking! If you guys have any pointers on things I can work on, please let me know! I can't wait to grow with everyone and show off my whole collection one day!
