My plan for 2014 was to slow down on figure collecting, but looking at this loot I don't think that happened :P
I'm late to the Monogatari party. I only started watching subbed anime a short while ago when SnK S1 aired. I chose Monogatari as my second subbed anime and fell completely in love with its characters, humor, and style.
Figma Senjougahara: ITEM #27601
Figma Araragi: ITEM #41252
Figma Hanekawa: ITEM #98881
Figma Karen: ITEM #98889
Figma Hachikuji: ITEM #61332
Nendo Senjougahara: ITEM #141637
Nendo Hachikuji: ITEM #166913
Re-Ment Kotatsu: ITEM #192862
Here we have a wall of Monogatari goodness. I want to collect all of the Monogatari Nendos and Figmas, along with a few scales (have GSC Shinobu ITEM #78406 and Koto Senjougahara ITEM #166624 on order, also looking at Koto or GSC Hachikuji). Coincidentally I picked up Figma Tsuhiki months ago from HS bargain bin since I liked her outfit, so now I just have Figma Kanbaru and Nadeko to go. I will pre-order the Nendos as they become available.
Nendo Hachikuji took forever to get through US Customs with a total RSAL trip of 40 days. Either the Lost Snail got my package misplaced or Nendo Mikasa from the same package posed a security risk @v@
Of the Monogatari Figma, I have to give the win to Hachikuji. I think she will be the most fun to pose, especially with her included sitting pose and umbrella. Hachikuji was also the most expensive of the bunch. Still, Senjougahara is my favorite Monogatari character <3
Also picked up a sweet Re-Ment kotatsu for Figma and Nendo pics. This was harder to get than the rest of the figures. AmiAmi restocked these for a bit and I quickly grabbed one (thanks figinstock.com).
Bandai Petit Senjougahara: ITEM #158903
Taito Petit Shinobu: ITEM #132359
The only figures I've opened from this loot (due to lack of display space) are Petit Senjougahara and Shinobu. Bandai Senjougahara is cute with her coy pose. This is the first petit I've received where the joints came unassembled on runners. They were easy enough to put together. Taito Shinobu, on the other hand, required no assembly. Her head is much bigger than Senjougahara's and gives her a bit more size. Dat donut mid-bite *nom nom*
Max Factory Momo: ITEM #144400
FuRyu Sonico After Bath: ITEM #173546
The holy grail of Momo Belia Deviluke figures! Max Factory could not have done a better job. When I ordered I only knew Momo from the original TLR manga. She was my favorite girl then, and now that I've started reading Darkness, I love her even more.
This is my third FuRyu Sonico figure. Given that I'm not even a fan of Sonico, that says a lot about how well FuRyu has done with her line of prizes. Hopefully this is the last one I will feel compelled to pick up.
Banpresto Yui: ITEM #173748
Sega Saber Bride: ITEM #167311
Sega Rei Q: ITEM #174741
Nendo Kuroko: ITEM #166914
Nendo Mikasa: ITEM #166614
Nendo Nozumu (Kouji Color Ver): ITEM #151380
Revoltech Raiden: ITEM #164667
Innocent sundress, umbrella, and bare feet fit Yui perfectly. K-On is the type of series I like to rewatch every so often. I will gladly buy more figures if Banpresto continues this line of prizes.
There's been some controversy over Sega Saber Bride. I agree her face seems a little off, but for a prize it's hard to ask for more than this. She should pose nicely with Nendo Saber Bride ITEM #166891.
This is my first Rei Q figure. I'm a longtime fan of Sega's Evangelion prize line for their quality, size, and low price. Once again Sega does not disappoint. Painstakingly Patiently awaiting Funimation's Eva 3.33 US release.
Nendo Kuroko was a must after already having Nendo Mikoto ITEM #144291. Actually, even without Mikoto or knowledge of Railgun series, dat pantsu head makes Kuroko a must for Nendo collectors.
Nendo Mikasa invites you in with cuteness and then slices you to pieces. I have several more SnK Nendos and Figmas on order. I'm going to try to avoid the scales as my wallet will fall to pieces. Maybe just GSC 1/8 Mikasa ITEM #166899
Nendo Nozomu was an unplanned purchase. I haven't read Sayonara Sensei nor do I know much about the character, but that outfit and HS bargain bin price won me over. I normally go with regular figure versions, but something abut this alternate paint job stands out to me.
I payed for Revoltech Raiden back when he was released in November but let him chill in HLJ private warehouse until I could find something else to ship with (eventually grabbed Nendo Senjougahara right before the 60 day warehouse period expired). I enjoyed MG Rising on PS3 and felt Revoltech did a good job with Peace Walker Snake ITEM #143577. Raiden looks like he will have a lot of posing possibilities.
One last bit of recent loot. I've become more interested in figure photography (thanks to all the great pics on MFC) and have been wanting to acquire a DSLR. Since they are so expensive, I didn't expect to get one any time soon. Fortunately I came across a thread on slickdeals that Target is clearancing some older cameras, including a few DSLR. I was super lucky to find a Nikon D3100 with two kit lens for $250. For that price I think it would be hard to find a better starter DSLR. I look forward to learning more about photography.
Hope everyone else had a good start to the new year! If you like, please post below with your favorite Monogatari character and figure (don't have to be the same). Thanks for reading :3
